Trying To Conquer Silence Poem by Sandra Feldman

Trying To Conquer Silence

Rating: 5.0

Is someone waiting for you?
No one is waiting for me,
Not even the smallest daisy,
Nor the new born bird,
Who's nest is so well hidden
In Life's tree,
Not even the whisper,
Of the ever moving Sea.

No, no one is waiting for me,
Only silence embraces my hours,
All of them free,
And I see the clouds go by,
To nowhere,
Slowly, hauntingly,
And I think of you a while
Trying to feel
What never was meant to be,
What could have been
But never was
And then Silence conquers all
Like a black Wall
That not even the Sea,
Will ever set Free.

There is a kind of haunting nostalgia in these lines and a deep sense of melancholy! There are times when we feel so desperately alone. But let us face life believing that such days will soon pass! You have given an arresting poignancy to the feelings of loneliness! Happy to hear from you again Sandra!
