Turkeygate Poem by Ima Ryma

Turkeygate

Turkey pardons Thanksgiving Day
Is a tradition for the Prez.
But turkeys might still have to pay,
As a confirmed turkey tale sez.
President Nixon got a bird
That did make his enemies list.
Rambunctious turkey was the word,
And so not to get Nixon dissed,
An exec order issued to
Assure that the bird be subdued.
Dumb stuff politicians do do.
The turkey kept coming unglued.

Turkey feet nailed to stop all kick
That Tom might have for Tricky Dick.
