Turn Off The Light Poem by Jonathan Goldman a.k.a JGthepoet

Is it time to turn the light off?
Turn the light off and go to sleep,
But no ~ I must wait awhile now,
As the words of this poem’ll not keep.

Why must it happen to me now?
Why can’t I hang up my pen?
Turn of the light and sleep now,
Will not the poem wait until ten?

Try as I must to sleep now,
The words flow quickly through my Mind,
Will not my Brain go to sleep now?
At four a.m. ~ it is so unkind.

Words flow and flow on paper,
I’ve no idea what will come next,
My Mind has gone into Poetry Mode,
As I pause ~ to take off my vest.

One more verse for this poem,
Then I’ll write no more this night,
I’ll put pen and pad in the drawer,
Take a breath ~ and turn off the light.
