Twisted Poem by Maya Hanson

Twisted

I'm not one to let go
but even I know that you're twisted,
trying to conjure a fight
from thin air.

I'm not one to open my eyes
when light shines through your skin,
but only because I'm surrounded
by the twilight you've created.

You think you're giving me
what I want,
but I only want it
because it's been given,
and pulling me apart
isn't going to save me.

You're made of mesmerizing insanity
chaos I thought I bargained for
but tearing out my heart
just because I don't want to stare down change
isn't going to save me.
