Two Happy People Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Two Happy People

Standing beside a fair young lady
In the National Art Gallery today
Friendly conversation suddenly began
The topic being ~ the world economy
And updates on Iraq and Iran.

She was attractive with laughter and fun
He seriously thought of romance in the sun,
Hand in hand... oh lucky one!
Then his murmuring heart sent a warning
In the blink of an eye he could die before morning.

But now was no time for hesitation,
It was now or never for sweet liaison.
Their worldly conversation could not wait
So two happy people arranged a date,
Tomorrow being their destiny ~ their fate.
