Typical English Summers Day. Poem by Ricky Owen

Typical English Summers Day.

Rating: 5.0

We English-look forward to our summer
with thoughts of brown sun tanning our skin
just lay back relax & burn & grin
with a light refreshment in one hand
a bite to eat in the other
you know your having a good time
with cheery smiles from mother to brother

but
unfortunately, its never like this
English summer-taking the hiss
infact,
we are in doors...unable to complain
impossible to go outside & turn off the rain
we just stay bored-out of our brain
listening to pitter patter going insane.

A very well woven piece, with lots of imagery which is great. Life is full of interesting bits and pieces to write about, and you have the ability to find it. Well done. Love and hugs Ernestine XXX

Clever! Really like the imagery. That is the one thing i dislike about Oxford, I used to live in Durban so it was sunny all the time, but i came hear and your seasons are so wet and cold! Half a mind to go back! Great poem, love effie
