Tyrant Poem by Paul Warren

Tyrant

Rating: 5.0

When I was younger
I felt the world was good
Tyrants were defeated
And things were as they should

But this is not the case
For there will always be
People who want advantage
As we do see

If you are powerful
And have the means
You can get your way
Or so it seems

Do we stand up to them
Say you don't invade
All are entitled to live
And not be a slave.

The truth is bitter, as always. In these times of calumny, it remains a luxury to be alive. Top score, dear poet….
