Ugly Mug Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Ugly Mug

Her fingers wrapped
around me,
Covering my ears
From the craziness of my day.
She didn't seem to care
Welcoming a release
To the feeling of standing still.
Her fingers stretched
around me,
Searching the places I've
Tried to hide myself.
Searching the places I've
Tried to forget.
Her hello meeting the tip of my mug
& I no choice but to let go
Her lips the answer to my prayers
Steeped & risen.
I offered myself freely
Willing to replinsh what she gave
To me.
The opinion of how beautiful
I thought she was
Visible for all to see.
Her lips forever stained
Against my ugly mug
