Undying Flame (Recommended) Poem by Ridah Ellahi

Undying Flame (Recommended)

The undying flame,
Rejoicing once again.
I burn from the inside.
The smoke curtains my eyes.
I open my mouth,
I unsuccessfully try to breathe.
I try to ventilate.
But the fire has clogged everything,
Swallowing everything I see.
Fire takes refuge,
From my flame.
These complacent hypocrites bleed out,
When they say my name.
I try to hold it back,
But why should I burn?
Too long have I tried to withhold!
Now the barriers shall yield!
The threshold shall be surpassed!
Let this wrath destroy,
With my emotions,
Who ever has toyed.
Let it swallow this pitiful existence.
Let it make this a barren land.
But I fear,
It’s too late now.
The fire has slowly swallowed my being.
The barriers had to yield.
The threshold has been surpassed.
Oh, but pity me not!
Remember, it shall forever reign,
For this is, after all, the undying flame…
