Unfaking My Living Poem by Abdul Wahab

Unfaking My Living

I am running a fatal risk
To be called a pathological liar or a dumbass hypocrite
If I do not tell the truth what I have seen
That would be a debauchery if I fling and play around, safe
I must sing the songs in the best of my knowledge and in the best of their tunes
As they appear I must paint the images in the best of my spirits
Even if my writing displeases some or becomes unacceptable
Even if roll some heads
Yet I have to cut the stones to get an artistic shape
I cannot be unfaithful to my beloved myself
I cannot kill my love
I cannot put my lively ego into death
I am me how I can cheat myself just to please you
How I can make my living a fake
And walk the road while I am dead
No fear can conquer my will
Nor any drug of greed could put me down
Nor any lure of bribe could knock me out
Nor any threat of shooting down missiles upon me will work
For I will die smiling
But never will I allow dishonestly over me to win.
