Uniting With My Archetype Poem by RAJ NANDY

Uniting With My Archetype

UNITING WITH MY ARCHETYPE!

Philosopher Plato had expounded his unique
theory of ‘Ideas’ or ‘Forms’,
With which Greek philosophic thoughts he
tried to reform!
His ‘Forms’ existed separated from the human
mind,
In some idealized metaphysical world of the
Platonic kind!
They were archetypes or original models of our
particular objects and worldly things,
Which existed in an idealized world, from the
very beginning!
And all things seen around us are mere copies of
those true ‘Forms’;
More akin to Plato’s supreme ‘Form of the Good’, -
Which at that time very few had really understood!
Later, during the fifth century AD, St. Augustine,
Equated Plato’s ‘Form of the Good’ with the ‘Mind
of God’!
This concept was better understood and became
more palatable;
Generating in me a host of optimistic thoughts, -
About which my mind was now capable!
I dreamt about the existence of my original true
self,
In some parallel universe, in a world beyond time
and space!
And when my worldly image here finally dissolves,
My soul shall travel to unite with my archetype self,
to become one and even,
Uniting with that ‘supreme good’, - the mind of the
Lord, in heaven!
