Unless Poem by Jaishree Nair

Unless

Rating: 5.0

Can pretend to be deaf to the insane deeds...
Can turn a blind eye to the inhuman activities...
Can assume a nonchalant attitude..

Can pretend to be unaffected.
Can turn a blind eye-
to the slow degeneration of the fellow beings...
The death - knell of the future...
Helplessly..unwillingly resigning to fate...

Not heeding the murmur of conscience
to raise voice against this injustice
To stop the toxin of venom
from poisoning life on earth.

Unless the wheel of helm
is steered by strong minds
brave enough to face the storms
and quieten its thunder deafening!

Thanks for sharing this wonderful poem that presents a critical commentary on the goings on around us and to arrive at a plausible consensus for benefit all over. I quote: to raise voice against this injustice (the society or the country) is steered by the worthy.... to sail smoothly overcoming storms and gales to reach the destination triumphant.
