Unspoken Words Poem by Martha C Dias

Unspoken Words

Touch;
As warm as the summer sun
On a cold somber winter morn
A touch does what words fail to do.
You hold back an avalanche of emotions.
Suppressing ….
Suffering…
Forgetting!

Breathe In
You discuss about the problems of the world…
And while you breathe out
You wonder,
What bout your own problems?
They don't really matter much
Do they?

A moment and another…
Insignificant chatter…
Significant words left unspoken.
And then the eyes meet….
Holding back hurt & disappointment
You look away….
Not wanting to let the other take a glance
At the broken state within,
You move on
Striding ahead with confidence ….putting up a fake façade!

Smile
A deceptive weapon
You've learnt to use well,
Disguises away the pain
Exhibits pretentious euphoria,
Yet a gigantic gulf of serenity between
Them smiling lips and sad black eyes
Give truth away!

Deep
Is you're soul
In all its simplicity and grandeur,
Misunderstood always…
Seeking consensus amongst chaos…
Amongst those who seek not to understand,
Towing your beliefs
Along worldly perceptions and cares!

Bewildering
Creation at its best…
The dark and the light
Both a result of the same hands,
You look on in awe
As you try to find your way…
Lending a hand always
Never too shy of asking for help!

Dust
When the bells toll…
Like siblings
Rest and calm come together…
It is then that you try letting out emotions withheld
But no words you seem to find
For words have now forsaken the
Faculties of the logical mind!

Tears
Flow down….
Same tears which were so long
Beautifully disguised away,
You crash within yourself
Leaving behind
Nothing but words
You never found the courage to say.
