Chasing After The Wind Poem by Martha C Dias

Chasing After The Wind

Redemption
We're all in search of
For it we seek high and low…
But while man only keeps searching
Without a hint it's time to go.

Salvation
Oh where can she be found?
In peace or on troubled shores…
She walked out
When inequity walked in,
Now she stands outside the door.

Folly
A friend so convenient
In him we find repose…
Closing our eyes to what we fear
Not knowing, a step behind it tows.

Tranquility
What's that?
In a world torn apart by war,
A fleeting experience in this life…
Only keeps one wanting for more.

Illusion
That's what you think it is…
Till you have cut yourself deep,
And bitter realization strikes
That you're more than the secrets you keep.

Masquerade
So much so
You eventually forget who you really are,
All those wounds you inflict upon yourself
Only leave behind non healing scars.

Chase
A pursuit you indulge in…
To keep other important things off your mind,
In your petty fruitless endeavors
The soul in silence dies confined.
