Tell Me Poem by Martha C Dias

Tell Me

Rating: 5.0

Tell me,
How would I know of your sorrows?
Which you never let show…
How would I know of your suffering?
Which you silently towed...

Each time I looked at you,
A smile was all I saw…
Who was to know deep inside,
Your wound was still raw?

Why don't you talk about it?
Why don't you open up?
Why do you keep it all inside?
And pretend to be all tough.

It's okay to cry sometimes…
It's alright to shed a tear…
Why won't you tell me what worries you?
Why won't you tell me what is it you fear?

You look at people with suspicion,
Never looking them in the eye…
It's not all that difficult to let your guard down,
Why don't you give it a try?

You say you've been hurt before,
But you forget it was then not now…
It's never too late to start again…
I wish I could explain it to you somehow!

Everybody's been a prey to circumstances,
We've all gone through pain…
There's gonna be someone who understands you…
You don't have to be so ashamed!

You think running away is the solution
What you don't know is it'll soon catch up?
So stop disguising all those emotions…
Like a lady hiding her flaws under make up.

I promise I will listen
Without bias to whatever you have to say…
If you need a friend to confide in,
Ever willing I will be there

Judge - I won't…
Respect - I will…
Just open up once … and let me heal.
