Unsuitable For Use Poem by Gary James Smith

Unsuitable For Use

Unsuitable For Use

How often we determine
The extent of our righteousness
And satisfy ourselves with the thought
Surely my God will bless
But we fall so far short
Of what God's requirement is
Thinking that..."we have arrived! "
He says! " Unsuitable for use"

For not of works of our righteousness
Is there merit to gain His favour
But we must come with repentant heart's
If we would seek to know the Saviour
And see sin in it's true light
For the darkness that it is
And our good works as nonsense
As He says " Unsuitable for use"

Lord my righteousness is as filthy rags
In the light of Who You are
For You are...Holy, Holy, Holy
My bright and morning star
And my sin making me deserving of
The wrath of God for sure
But by the precious blood of Jesus Christ
He says "Unsuitable for use" no more!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!
