Until It's Taken Away Poem by Lauren Coles

Until It's Taken Away

Until it's taken away
I wish I knew what it feels like to run,
Other people do,
I wouldn't wish tragedy upon anyone,
One foot in front of the other,
Accepting help from others is the most difficult part of having a disability,
Being born with a disability is easier because you don't have to start over,
If you get injured in a accident you have to find someone to look up to,
I can't imagine relearning simple challenges.
