Untold Tales Of Love Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

Untold Tales Of Love

Rating: 5.0

" I'm yours for ever, " said she with a face
where all three seas met and yelled out in joy;
the whole sphere of auspicious stars gleamed
and chirped in joy the birds of all hues and sounds.

The galloping Time whose reins unchecked,
pushed us off not to meet no more for decades,
gave in when we were struggling to breathe.
Her kin once split us, made us see each other.

Love was not a pastime but a tale untold.
The castes and cults were the hissing tongues
But we in youth ne'er thought of them with ruth
And the ship got wrecked and sank into the sea.

Why the lovers fall in grief as they have lost a province
When the lusty green pastures are in abundance?
