Upset Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Upset

The more the people become upset,
To openly express...
A letting to allow their backs to turn,
On the truth for having their delusions met.
No one these days,
In the presence of a death threatening virus.
Or a social distance made to keep effective.
With a losing entitlements to do as they please.
While accepting to be deceived.
Believing their choice to remain indifferent,
Will one day shower them with prosperity.
And lives to live refusing to accept,
Reality as it is to avoid.
As leaders they have chosen to represent,
'Their' interests.
Have proven to have done this.
Without competence shown or proven,
Yet...
Conflicts, confusion, racial division.
An economy destroyed,
By greed and the feeding...
Of hypocritical selfish needs.
They seem to be experts.
Leaving no one to doubt these skills.
Done with a doing,
Effecting not only millions of lives...
Of every race there is including their own.
And this to condone in a place,
Where GREATNESS had been shown and known.
Had only just a few,
Sickened with ego, image and faked impressions...
To address.
Instead of insecurities to face them.
Leftover from their adolescent childhoods.

And that...
No one should be proud to let,
Destruction left as evidence to witness...
A promising quality of life,
For everyone.
Thrown to the gutter.
Filthy of smells and gone to hell!
