Value Is Heavier Than That Poem by Kumarmani Mahakul

Value Is Heavier Than That

Rating: 5.0

There are so many commodities
Different kinds in shape and size
And in length, breadth or weight
But everythings are useful.

Even rough things or stuff
Are useful and are needed,
Garbages are useful too.

Commodities are purchased
With money like rupee, ruble
Dollar, pound, pence, krone
Yen etc. or by barter system.

Man is very clever and
He has aesthetic knowledge,
He can resurrect the stuff
To beautiful and attractive
Dolls or parapheranalia.

There are good qualities
In men and women like love
Nonviolence, sympathy, empathy
Kindness, charity, tolerableness
Helpfulness, truthfulness, sacrifice
And greedless which are known as
Moral qualities or value in life.

These moral qualities or persons
Having values are heavier than
Commodities with huge quantities,
We can know if we introspect deeply.

We must have values to lead
Peaceful lives in communities
As a whole under the grace of God.

Values are necessary for life always. Greatest love comes from God through light into Earth. We feel this. This is really great when love is transformed into light of love of wisdom. Love glows and grows with us. This is a great write and you are a nice poet.

aesthetic means appreciation so I think, perhaps, you might alter this line to 'and is innovative' but I like the sentiment of this poem for we seem to live in a 'throw away' society these days....when I was a child you had to make things last, everything was held as precious. My mother's kettle lasted until I left home, so at least 23 years :)

You discern in a subtle way how much commodities are different from values, even though we need both of them for everyday life. I notice that nearly all your poems end on the concentric road to God. You must have unshakable faith in God.
