Velvet Snow Poem by fraidoon warasta

Velvet Snow

so!
strangely unsophisticated
simpleminded
like a sparrow
this charming glow
of silver snow

a surprise for robins
joy maybe for
magpie and crow

awake again
this ornamental winter
open again
the eyes of snow-pearls
in full flow!

early spring back
on holiday
has to go!

blossom should hibernate
time for buds of snow
time for winter-show

time for snow-light
the meadow bright
winter's gentle bite
time for joy to grow
feeling the glow
of charming snow

take your basket!
to pick blossom-snow
get your sledge
going across stars and moon
can it be so?
yes! it's time for play
it's winter show
let's go!

although vague,
unsophisticated,
simpleminded
like a sparrow
this first velvet snow!
more, i don't know
