Visit Us Again Poem by David Harris

Visit Us Again

Rating: 5.0

The rain falls passed my window
after weeks of summer sun
and is it any wonder why my smile
has turned upside down into a frown.
Maybe we need the rain,
but not just today.
The brightness that lifted me
has turned black and grey
as the clouds drift over
spilling rain everywhere.
The heart that was joyful and light
has turned heavy once again.
Our heatwave is over
as winter wants to claw us back
towards its cold and dreary nights,
but we can hope this is just a pause
before the sun decides to visit us again.
