Voice Of A Striving Soul Poem by John Defiant

Voice Of A Striving Soul

Rating: 4.5

The sun above my fears, the sky behold my tears..
It spans across the earth, from east to west for years..
My strength is cast from pain, a curse i can't complain..
For it is he who has life that cares what flows beneath his veins..
The world has been a burden, a heavy weight of force..
I try to hold as much, but I cave in quick of course..
Laughter has been a wish, a figment of my thoughts..
I only live sweet memories when I'm reading them in words..
My life has been a twist, between far and nearly bliss..
Anticipation for good times dwindles away very swift..
I'm just waiting for the end, and what it brings along..
Nothing can break me again, by now I know I'm very strong..
So I take this everyday while I think of the aftermath..
Cos when the rain is over, the sun shines after that..
What comes easily to you, surely will never last..
And what lasts doesn't come easy, so always remember that..
