Wails Of A Baby Poem by Unnikrishnan Sivasankara Menon

Wails Of A Baby

Rating: 5.0

I do what I do

A ‘NO' here,
a ‘NO' there,
‘NOs' everywhere,
why do you?

'no, No and
a big NO'
shout you,
Who are you?

The food you give are mere waste
none has any good taste,
all of them taste so bland
do they grow in sea or on the land?

Not bitter nor sour
what do you pour
down my mouth
all that I loathe;

a boxful of toys you've given
so gross and boring, none exciting,
all the clanging shiny toys you keep
for yourselves to play with in the kitchen;

there in the cupboard are knives sharp
which I'd love to play with, I'm sharp!
all the switchboards I want to play with
you would not allow me to touch;

I am so bored with your food
with your choice of toys,
and dresses for me, no good
you just kill my joys.
