Waiting And Hoping Poem by Sara Panicali

Waiting And Hoping

Rating: 5.0

we knew each other for about a year
did every thing for each other
anyone could ever believe

this chick
you knew for only two months
on and off
knowing we're having a rough spot
you told her how you feel
and that we are expecting
and she should have backed off
and let you sort things out
but instead
asked you to marry her on Christmas day

I still wake up at night
reaching out to you, to hold you close
then I check my phone
to see if I have a missed text or call
like we used to do when we couldnt sleep
then reality sinks in
that you rather be with her
holding her close
then like every other night
I cry myself back to sleep

I'm tired of waiting on the sideline
waiting and hoping
you see how she is
and that you will come running back

this time
I will be on the sideline
waiting and hoping
that she does the same to you
like you did to me
and I will be there to laugh at you
and the huge mistake that you made

This poem is good, it has an easy to understand diction but you really need to work on metre and rhyming scheme. Great one, God bless your head! You can go through some of my poems too, clicking on my name and it'll show you my page. Thanks!

That seems definitely from the heart. May you find peace through your works. They are good, still I see them gettin better.
