I shall die now
And no one will remember
As my words expire
And fall like autumn leaves
Silence is all I can give
But you would say NO
Then, you realise I was right
As I dreamt my verses floating
Throughout the world
Into the sky
Onto everyone's lips
I shall perish into the realm
Only to lie in the coffin
Waiting for poetry to bring me back
[next day's comments]: I esp. liked 'As my words expire And fall like autumn leaves' & 'As I dreamt my verses floating Throughout the world Into the sky Onto everyone's lips'.
I plan to return to your poem, perhaps tomorrow with more comments. The computer's owner, my wife, came back to use her PC. : ) bri
I kicd of like this, though I'd be guessing, in part, at what you are saying/meaning. I suspect [[and I may be totally wrong]] that you feel that you, as a poet, are ignored. It could be, and you wouldn't be the first to have such thoughts!
Don't undersell yourself, LeeAnn. Your words may well live on long past the time you think.
I shall perish into the realm only to lie in the coffin....undeniable truth!
I give 5 stars. ***** Very nice. Some readers would like a Poet's Notes from you, and I often would like to see one. I would not mind seeing one from you, but the poem stands well alone. bri : )
Sometimes poets cause me 'a problem' by using no punctuation or by punctuating inconsistently. Using a capital letter to start EACH line can bother me also, BUT I only see now [after mentioning it] that you did that here. Ha ha.
I would change 'dreamt' (which I call 'past tense' of dream) to 'dream' in order to stay with the other verbs in the poem. I see no punctuation marks (NONE) and I assume that is on purpose. It works fine for me in this poem.
TO OTHER READERS OF LeeAnn's poem: ....I doubt LeeAnn is writing about suicide nor even about actual death. I think the poem may hint at a poet's dissatisfaction with the number or 'quality' of her commenters.
This poem has not been translated into any other language yet.
I would like to translate this poem
Your mention of lying in a coffin reminds me of my Fun-eral poem. I don't have any 'plans' for what happens to my body (or my soul, IF there is such a thing) . I hope being dead will releive me of some Earthly moments.
