Wake Up Poem by Marjorie Mandahinog

Wake Up

Rating: 5.0

Hey wake up!
You still have work to do.
Don't skip your breakfast
It will make you ready to go.

Happy break time
Oh no! You got no snack.
Trying to save the money
for your children's backpacks.

Feel the acid in your stomach?
Oh well, you really are starving.
Going home neglecting the sun's heat
for you to have something to eat.

Work and work hard again.
Night approached you slowly then
it tells you to go home early
because you are tired already.

Dinner with your family.
What a beautiful scenario I see.
You seemed extremely happy.
It's was an unusual moment of the day.

Days and nights the cycle is on.
The love for your family is never gone.
They were your first priority
but you didn't tell them the sad reality.

Hey Uncle wake up! Why won't you response?
Not a heartbeat I heard once.
Why did you go without giving us chance
To say goodbye and see your last glance.

How could you be good at keeping secrets
How could you act like there's no pain
How could you let your heartbeat stop.
How could you leave and never see us again.
