Wake Up, America Poem by Richard Wlodarski

Wake Up, America

Rating: 5.0

Wake up, America
Beware of false prophets
They come in guise of sheep
But are such vicious wolves

Such damn cold-eyed views
Of reality...
Peddling promises
They can never keep

Wake up, America
You were once so strong
Defending the weak
At your own expense

Wake up, America
Before candles burn out
And the haunting darkness
Sets the skies on fire
