(I wrote this, thinking about the many mornings I've had when I've just woken up from sleep and a poem pops into my mind.)
Dear Dennis, thanks for your suggestion but I would like to retain my original composition.
Isn't that greeting in itself a poem. What do you think about this addition, interpolation?
A good poem, nice thought... Though I wonder if your second stanza would be a bit better if it read this way:
