Wanted:'admiration! ' Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Wanted:'admiration! '

The one thing,
Anyone envious and jealous of others...
Seem not able to retrieve for themselves.
Is that elusive admiration.
And this begins to disease,
Their minds to perform...
Vindictive misdeeds.
Displayed increasingly on a regular basis.

Although limitless is their ignorance.
Becoming less tolerated.
And irritating the more it is observed.
Yet...
It is the tremendous attention one gets.
As if to demand this to deserve.
Like a child much too big for a sandbox.
But still will get into it...regardless.
Just to place blame on someone else.
For putting dirt in the box.

And...
If it had not been for them to remove it,
No one would notice...
Who it was that replace the dirt with sand.

"They had nothing to do with that.
It was all my idea.
And I deserve the credit! "
