War Mongers Stoned Freedom To Death Poem by Terence George Craddock

War Mongers Stoned Freedom To Death

after a few hours
when protesters
had grown tired

from their labour destroying

a statue to peace
freedom quietly
drew near

freedom softly asked 'Why do you not give

peace a chance? '
the violent crowd
sudden swift

turned on freedom like a shoal of hunger piranha

wanting to eat
freedom flesh
to bone picked up

rocks both sharp and blunt from the destroyed

statue of peace
and promptly
stoned

freedom lover of peace to death
