Pulled taut until it was stretched out of shape
They lost elastic memories in a well gone to too many times

Eternal constant maintenance
Eat and sleep in ghastly ownership
Manuals tucked under one arm

When the pulse goes faint
The true calling of knowledge goes fainter
Into legerdemain distance, the voice as if being carried
Power slips quickly away, the married woman's lover in pleasure that won't stand still
The night vanisher and the fate of all happy moments

For the bar is almost at zero
