Wasp World Poem by Ima Ryma

Wasp World

Gene therapy is sort of new
For humans monkeying around.
Who knows what such research will do.
Possibilities just abound.
Could planet of the apes arise
By genetic tests gone astray?
Not likely, scientists surmise,
But look to wasps to show the way.
They lay their eggs into a host,
With virus to put in the fix
To make such womb the uttermost
For altering the genetics.

Planet of the apes - fantasy,
But planet of the wasps - maybe!
