Television Channels
telecast stories
of newborn babies
who lost their mothers,
hungry.
A mother of two
residing far away at Idukki
responded immediately
"I shall feed them! "
traveled overnight
with her husband and children
leaving their home and career
in their little pick up van,
reached the relief camp
in the morning
ready to feed
the motherless kids
with her breast milk.
"We are very poor,
this is all we can do
for the children
who lost everything",
she said, matter-of-factly.

Humaneness in times of such calamity needs to be celebrated. Especially when the honourable lady states that "we have no money. Sharing my breast milk with the motherless little ones is the only thing I can do for them "
