We Give Them Their Power Poem by Francis Duggan

We Give Them Their Power

Rating: 5.0

We give them their power and they repay us in fear
And of terrorists and terrorism is all from them we hear
And are we that dumb that we cannot see
That to hang on to their power how manipulative they can be.

It suits them a World of turmoil and strife
And by talking of terrorists to terrorism they give life
And the terrorists unwittingly help them to cling to power
The weeds in the garden they stifle the flower.

The root cause of most of the World's problems is World poverty
Of greed and Governmental corruption we may never be free
You keep people hungry and against them discriminate
And you they will only have reason to hate.

Their children are hungry and crying to be fed
But we don't give them meat or we don't give them bread
At night our war planes bomb their suburbs instead
And we leave them to mourn for and to bury their dead.

Our so called leaders are the one eyed and we are the blind
And they truly believe in the saying you must be cruel to be kind
And they have learned for to conquer that you first must divide
And then they tell us we have God on our side.

We give them their power and they laugh in our face
By making our World for us to live in a far more dangerous place
The children of the poor they are crying to be fed
But we do not feed them we bomb them instead.
