We know not the date
When the drum will sound
And our breath snuffed out
Abandoning the flail flesh
To dust & soil and water the plants.
We know not the date
When our dancing feet will backlog
Failing to enjoy the ease of twists & turns
Imbecily, gaping amidst wide eyes.
We know not the date
When our cracking laughter
That sweetened & watered faces
Will loss its vigour and remain mute
Its doors slammed & jammed eternally.
We know not the date
So we live happily & sad
Hoping to shine with every light
Until darkness envelopes them all.
