We Live In Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

We Live In

We live in

Long ago, in Dubai
-I wrote of the "Top Cat, "
-in real, he was man
-dug into garbage can
-and the waste
-to survive…

Here, where contains the
-largest mass of water
-in the lakes and rivers
-some do not have water
-to drink, cook, shower.

They are the "First Nations! "

Someone died in the box
-when climbed to get, find
-an old piece of cloth
-to fight cold and keep warm.

We live on the land that
-defends the "Freedom"
-and has own "Charter-
-Rights! " with claim:
- "Is better than UN's! "

I think of the oppressed
-in deserts and mountains,
-Africa and Andes
-as well as Middle East!

Feel ashamed!
Feel ashamed!
Feel ashamed!

Rather die!
Rather die!

Prefer being dead!
Prefer being dead!
Prefer being dead!
