We Never Lack Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

We Never Lack

We never lack humanity
That has been gifted by an almighty
Only circumstances prevent us sometimes
To act contrary for changed times

Charity knows no bounds
It can be found
On the part of poor
Or beggars too

I was stunned at the gesture
That help was rendered from beggar
We call it rare and occasional
But can’t treat it as casual too

We, sometimes, call beggar as dirty
Term them blot on society
But never look into lapses on our part
Humanity shall shame if we start

All wants to live with dignity
But land with sorry state
As huger shall not be on their side
Their eyes shall always remain wide

“The world is not for us”
Their soul shall cry in disgust
As they are forced to live in slums
Eat whatever is offered to them

We Never Lack
