we chance to be seated
beside each other

we do not expect this
to happen at that moment
when we are supposed
to be there
partying

and i make a glance at you
longer this time
recalling all your lies and
deceptions which i just
let go
from one ear to another
as though
nothing is important
as though
what you say was less than
the roots of the
relationship which had
been handed to us
from them

those who died ahead of
us
those who have not met
you
those who should have
cared
why this happened
why you are there
why you should have been valued
higher
than anything else

you are a liar
but we love you still
we hope for change
never drastic in some ways
to hurt you

after all
this is all of us
we pass only once
and so we
must learn how to forget

or forgive.
