We-The Afghans
Sunday,23rd June 2019
We are brave sons of the soils
we have always resisted the evil rule
no outside force could rule us
we are committed and often demonstrated the trust
We have never bowed
and allowed
foreign yoke to be thrown away
and tried for independence to stay
no one has dared to dominate
or influence the independent state
we struck our old tradition
and remained self institution
Even Britishers paid dues to maintain Duran line
we were ultimate rulers and defined
but lately Russians and later Americans
they all treated us shabbily against human values
Our population is bleeding
but we are not heeding
to any pressure from outside
no one can exert pressure and divide us
our people are dying
but not laying the arms
for the sovereignty of the nation
this is custom and tradition
we have shown the world
we may bear the sufferings untold
but never succumb to the slavery
we may tolerate the misery
Let any powerful nation surround
and try to bring us around
at the cost our self-pride
we shall resist with full force and decide our course

Afghanistan has a glorious history. Not aware of history of buddhist afghanistan, perhaps it was called by a different name then. Then they converted following the islamic influence and since then, the nation has been war torn. Hope India will help them rebuild, now that Mr. Modi is a good friend of the head of Afghanistan.

The brave pathans, Afghans, beautifully depicted in your verse. For many years now, they have known nothing but conflict, occupation, and strife. The land of the great Sufi Mystic, Rumi, beautiful, rugged, Afghanistan. Pushpa Subramanian, Kolkata, Jun 24,2019
