Well Worded War Poem by Tatianna Rei Moonshadow

Well Worded War

You stare so cold
That it almost gives off heat
Somewhere between the freezer and the furnace
Our eyes are bound to meet
My words are flowing fast
A waterfall into your waiting ears
You try to break them down into something sensible
But no amount of your logic can keep me here
Erase the words you've written
And replace them with something more
Give me one good reason to stay
So maybe I'll think twice at the door
You look like you're concentrating so hard
Trying to find a witty reply
Can't you just face the fact
That there is no hope left for you and I
We can study a hundred books
But no words can ever make this right
Please put down your well worded weapons
And surrender yourself to the fight
I can talk my way into anything
But I can't talk myself out of him
He's my most forbidden inspiration
And he's the angel forgiving all these sins
So put down your ball point guns
I've got to get out of here by eleven
Don't try to talk me into enduring your lyrical Hell
When he's offering me poetic Heaven
