Werewolf Poem by David Harris

Werewolf

Rating: 5.0

I pray each day
that the full moon will not rise
and awaken the beast
within the darkness of my soul.
That no transformation
will ever come over me again,
making me into the loathsome creature
of childhood nightmares.

I hide myself from the darkness
always seeking light
to try and avoid the evil
infection that awakes the monster
from my soul to roam again.
Is there no way to stop the torment
that continues within me?
Suggestions have been made, but none work.

The evil that possesses me
seems invulnerable to all
and my victims increase
upon every full moon.
I pray one day a cure be found
to drive the evil from my soul
and make me
an ordinary human again.
