Whale: Intelligence And Physical Power
Because of his strong backbone,
Ishmael credits himself
with a full and noble soul,
which uplifts him as much
as does the symbol of his physical strength
that is most sure to raise a laugh,
'his firm audacious staff'.
Humour, present in Ishmael,
absent in the whale.
