What A Death Poem by Kingsley Egbukole

What A Death

Rating: 5.0

Innocent pure blood
Saintly without blemish
Humbly submitted
To die a sacrifice
For redemption of the lost
Which none else dared volunteer

Judged in injustice
Sentenced in seclusion
Flogged in hate
Over-sized cross hung on Him
And down He fell in exhaustion

Hung on the cross like a thief
Huge nails painfully drilled on him
Innocent blood flowed freely
And water after the blood flowed
A cry of pain escaped from Him
And He gave up the ghost for me to live

His conviction was my acquittal
His stripes my healing
His death my living
His resurrection my redemption
To Him my only saviour
Be honour and glory, Amen.
