What A World We Live In Poem by Matthew Holloway

What A World We Live In

What a world we live in
where the freedom of thought
of opinion and free will
is reflected by hate and scorn
where the foolishness of youth
is wielded like a weapon
the self righteous and arrogant
shout louder than all others
the personal choice
of life style, political belief
health choices made
its a war out there, these days
fought over social media
through press and hashtags
quick to condemn
unwilling to forgive
guilty until proven guilty
it's the new stupid reality
what a world we all live in now
gone the creative and the free
chained upon eggshell roads
we walk in their echo's
the uneducated over opinionated
holes of the ass
Plato would curse us all
and rightly so
for we all play a part in this
world we live in
