What Are We Poem by Lauren Pandy

What Are We

Would you walk a mile
Just to see me smile
Your touch is so exhilarating
To be around you is so intoxicating
If this is love, is it meant to be
If not, what then What will we be
Can we still be good friends
True to ourselves and each other in the end
We'll be there for each other
At the very least I'll be your sister and you my brother
I'll scratch your back if you scratch mine
Seems we never have enough time
If I could, I'd manipulate the structure of space
Just so I could always be able to see your face
I would walk a mile
Just to see you smile
Not only do I want for you
But in more ways imaginable I need you, too
Is my touch exhilarating
Is being around me intoxicating
Do you hope it's love Do you think it's meant to be
If not, can and will we still be good friends
True to ourselves and each other in the end
Well we be there for each other
Will I still be your sister and you my brother
I'll scratch your back if you scratch mine
When we're together it's never enough time
Are we meant to be
Something beyond just you and me
