What Colour Is God? Poem by Martin Ward

What Colour Is God?

Rating: 5.0

What Colour Is God?

What colour is God?
Does she wear a crown of thorns?
Do Archangels blow their trumpets
each time God walks through the door?
Does God walk or glide, see or hear?

Is God's house built on a cloud in Heaven,
or is it a council house in Bootle?
Does God prefer red or white wine;
support Man U or Chelsea,
or simply in Excelsis Deo?

What sort of car does God drive?
I bet he likes a yellow Ferrari,
because the Devil will have a red one.
Does God watch Sky TV,
or does he have a Freeview Box?

God must look like an old man
in a Michelangelo masterpiece,
or at the very least a rich banker.
I bet he made those celebrities in his image;
that's why so many want to make it.

I reckon God doesn't see colours.
I thought I saw him
in the eyes of a mother
whose baby died in her arms,
and it made me cry.

I reckon God doesn't see colours. I thought I saw him in the eyes of a mother whose baby died in her arms, and it made me cry. - - - - -It made me cry- - Really a heart touching write.People wage war in the name of God, they should know God dwells in pure heart where there is love and compassion.
