What Has One Got To Do With The Other Poem by Phillip Nine Mafunga

What Has One Got To Do With The Other

Purity
Or security
What's one gotta do with the other
What meaning do we derive thereof

Favours
Or rewards
How do these relate
Aren't we all certain, at light, darkness recedes fast

Years
Or long life
In the intervening years, darkness is thickest in an orphan's life
Where his dreary memories float in a non-descript vast

Haze
Or daze
Of a tired mind, thought is indeed loose
I therefore write crazy stuff

Cues
Or clues
Can one sustain the other
Above all, fact is, my old Acer has served me well

Phantom
Or mirage
Well, what's one gotta do with the other, really
For what we seeing could be a phantom or a mirage
