What Is Forever?



what is forever?
is it yours?
is it mine?
from the baby's-breath
to the taste of soil and flames?
Or until the waves kiss the shore
and leave broken shells behind?
you left a rose with empty promises,
and I tried to keep it alive forever.
what was your forever?
asked the soul to ‘life'
while ‘death' sat and smiled.
