What Is Poetry? Poem by Heaven Kalu

What Is Poetry?

Rating: 5.0

What is poetry?
An aggregation of blantant words
That reveals the ugliness of darkness
A conjurement of imagery seasoned
With elixirs to sooth its audience
An oenomel of opus that speaks the
Mysteries in the heart of mortals.

What is poetry?
A superfluity of fastened vowels and
Consonants that reflects a motive
A use of words with endless thoughts
That transcends the immediate world
A figure of speech built by emphatic
Alphabets to depict farce.

What is poetry?
An expression of realism in various
Parts of speech constructed to
Unravel catharsis of the soul...
An assimilation of ideas in stanzas to
Light up dark aisles of ignorance
A voice that echoes the issues of life in
It's simplest simple simplicity.

What is poetry?
Poetry is life wrapped in words and rhymes
To masseuse the soul of its listener
A syllabic condiments assembled together
To amplify the sweetness of life.
An enjambment of verses in stanzas with
Rhythmical pauses of the caesura
Poetry is that which is written in an
Unrhymed iambic pentameter.
